Friday afternoon Julia and Jack spent the afternoon with Papa. When Nana came home they packed up and left for Stettler with Juju in tow! The three of them spent the night and at Grandma and Grandpa Toone's on the farm and had a relaxing visit. Julia loved every minute and had all the details for me when she got home. That left Jon and I with Jack! What a treat for Jack to have us to himself, it was nice to give our attention to him for a whole day. Jon made us a yummy breakfast and then the 3 of us headed to Bowness for a walk along the river..it was beautiful! The sun was out all weekend and we were soaking it up. As we were walking back to our car after a long walk we got a call from Uncle Tracy asking if we wanted to head over there for a visit and BBQ with my cousins. We were happy to make the trip over and it was a nice visit and good to see everyone. When we left Jack finally fell asleep after skipping 2 naps! To finish the evening we went back to mom and dad's for an early father's day cake before my dad headed to Vancouver for a week. It was a very nice day, and as nice as it was for Julia to visit Grandma and Grandpa Toone we were very happy to have her back in her bed last night.
Today, Father's Day, had a great start! Jon finished his project- staining/coating, installing new treads and re-building the stairs in the front entrance way. They look awesome! He is quite the handy man, very talented! Julia was super excited to give Jon his gift- beginner hockey school so he can play in a league! He was stoked and very surprised. It will be his "man thing" to do once a week to get out of the house. I hope he will enjoy! We had breakfast as a family and put Jack down for a nap. I made a picnic lunch and we waited for Jack to rise so we could head out for some Father's Day fun. The plan was to leave when he woke up, but 1.5 hr later and with 50 lbs of stuff in tow we headed off to the outdoor pool for an afternoon of swimming in the sun. We met up with some cousins and had a blast! Julia and Stephanie kept going back for more, blue chattering lips and all. Jack went for a swim and didn't complain once, he seemed to enjoy floating around in his baby float. It was a nice afternoon and the sun was much appreciated by everyone at the pool. We ended the evening with dinner with my mom and sister, always love mom's cooking :)
We had a great weekend, happily celebrating the 2 most important men in my life: Jon who is an amazing Daddy to our babies and my own Daddy who is not only an amazing Dad but the best Grandfather I could ask for my children!
Amanda, there's your geese!
